What is Tech Career Show?

An innovative career platform that exists to help European tech professionals find new opportunities, keep up with industry trends and advance their careers.

We do this through monthly virtual events where participants can meet 1-on-1 with 500+ tech employers in Europe, and attend career-boosting sessions by some of the leading minds in the industry.

How do I know if it’s right for me?

Tech Career Show was created for anyone working or interested in the tech space. No matter if you are a seasoned professional, or just making your first steps in the industry, joining the platform can benefit your career. 

Our events cover the full range of positions in the industry – from technically-oriented developers, cybersecurity experts and data scientists, to creative designers, strategic marketers and product managers, and people-focused sales and customer support specialists.

How does it all work?

All you need is a registration for the Tech Career Show platform. Once you register and complete your profile, you will get access to all of our annual events and on each event day, you will be able to book meetings with participating companies and attend sessions from the event programs.

Will I have to pay anything?

No! Registration and participation in all events is completely free of charge for candidates and we will never make you pay for anything.

First steps on the platform

How can I join Tech Career Show?

You can register for the platform for free here

You will get an email with your personal access link, which you can use to log onto the platform anytime. When you log in, you will be asked to complete your profile in order to get access to all events and companies.

Why does my profile need to be approved?

We want to ensure that everyone on the platform can get the most out of it. This is why our team manually reviews each candidate and company profile. We give you improvement suggestions, if we think you can present yourself even better, and then you are ready to go!

Why do I have to complete my profile before I can access the events?

The best thing about our platform is that it can match you with the right employers that suit your requirements. You can browse companies, and they can search for you, too.

By completing your profile, you increase your chances of the right companies finding you and inviting you to meetings. We recommend adding as much detail as possible to your profile.

Can I book meetings with employers anytime?

You can browse participating employers on the platform and request to book video meetings with them anytime. However, the meetings take place only on the event days

By limiting video meetings to set days, we ensure that both employers and candidates will be open for meetings and available throughout the day.

During an event

What do I need to participate in an event?

Not much – just a stable internet connection and a device with a working camera and microphone.

To avoid any technical issues, please also make sure that you are using the latest version of your browser (Chrome, Edge, Mozilla or Safari).

How should I prepare for the event?

Each event has specific company participants and a program of virtual talks. It is definitely a good idea to check out the companies and program in advance, so you can plan your day in the best way possible. 

You can add talks to your personal agenda and schedule the meetings with companies in your free slots between the talks.

Another important thing is to research the participating companies in advance, so that you know what to expect and plan any questions you might have.

Are the video meetings job interviews?

No, the video meetings aren’t exactly job interviews. They are more like introductions where you and the employer get to know each other and ask questions, so that both sides can decide whether you want to continue with the recruitment process. 

This is a great way to make a positive impression on the employer and get your foot in the door. Don’t forget that it is still a business meeting, so you need to make sure to be on time, look presentable and have a few great questions in mind!

Can I choose which employers to meet?

Absolutely! Both you and the employers are free to reach out and request a video meeting. You don’t need to wait to be invited by a company. Being proactive not only gives you more choice and better control over which companies you get to meet, but it is also a good sign in the eyes of employers and it will help you stand out! 

We encourage you to browse participating employers before the event day and send requests for video meetings to the companies you are interested in. For best results, make sure to start sending invitations at least a couple days in advance.

What if I can’t attend one of my meetings?

Things come up, we get it. There is no problem at all, cancel your meeting and request another slot. However, it’s important to let the employer know, so that you are not blocking a slot in their calendar and they aren’t waiting for you in vain. 

You can easily do this by withdrawing your meeting invitation from the “My agenda” section in the platform.

I’m having technical issues. Who can help me?

Our team is available to support you with any technical difficulties you might have during the event day. Just email us at [email protected] or use the chat bubble at the bottom right of this page, and we will help you solve the issue as soon as possible!

After the event

I missed a talk that I wanted to attend. Can I watch a recording?

Of course. We record all sessions, so they are available on demand. You can find the recordings in the “Program” section of the platform, under the event date. If you have added a session in your personal agenda, you can also access the recording from the “My agenda” section.

I don’t want to be contacted about any future events. What can I do?

No problem, you can deactivate your profile at any time by going to the “My profile” section of the platform and clicking on “Cancel” in the top left corner of the page. Your registration will be canceled and you will no longer be connected about our events.

I’m interested in another event. Should I register again?

No, there is no need to make a new registration. Once you create your profile, you will have access to all upcoming events and you can join any event you like without having to register for it. 

What might still be useful is to update your candidate profile and add new information for each new event, so that it is always up to date and relevant to the event you are attending.
